Herbal chewing mix

1-2 teaspoons after each meal to build digestive fire and for a little savoury kick.

  • ½ cup fennel seeds

  • 1 cup sesame seeds

  • 2 cups desiccated coconut

  • ½ tsp turmeric 

  • 2 tsp cardamom powder

  • 1 tbsp clove

  • 1 tsp ginger powder

  • 1 tsp salt

  1. In a cast iron pan, roast fennel and sesame seeds until they turn light brown ( cover with a lid as the seeds will splatter)

  2. Add coconut and roast for a few minutes until golden - stir constantly to prevent burning

  3. Place the seed mix in a bowl and add the remaining ingredients; stir well.

  4. Leave to cool before storing in the fridge.
